How To Enable “Stereo Audio” In Zoom
1. Select “Preferences” in the Zoom app on your computer.
2. Hit the “Audio” tab on the upper right corner an click the “Enable Stereo” box. If you don’t see the “Enable Stereo” option, skip ahead to step 2b.
2b. If you have checked the “Enable Stereo” option above, go to step 3 below.
Select the “General” tab in Zoom, and then click on “Enable Advanced Features”. This will open up your browser to adjust your advanced Zoom settings.
In your browser, scroll down to the “In Meeting (Advanced)” section and activate the switch next to “Allow users to select stereo audio in their client settings” & “Allow users to select original sound in their client settings”.
3. Close the Zoom app on your computer and re-open it.
BOOM! You’re done and ready to learn a ton of cool stuff during your Home Studio Lesson!

Zoom is TOUCHY. Like real touchy. We’re working on replacing it with a new system. In the mean time, be sure to follow all of the instructions on the check in form, and if necessary, reschedule a lesson or do a lesson without the stereo audio option. We’ll have a more dependable solution soon.
If you’re having issues with Cubase on a Windows machine- that is a known issue for versions of Cubase before 10.0.
For now, it’s okay to give it to them if it facilitates the lesson. It’s completely up to you though.
We’re working on a chat system that will allow you to ask the student to contact you through our systems, and once that’s in place, our only strict rule will be to not give out your contact info.
If you remember from your application agreement, giving out your contact info to “poach” a student that you met through HSL is one of the only things that can get you kicked off the site.
All over the world baby! If you speak a language other than English- that can give you a huge edge with winning customers from non-english speaking countries. I’d recommend that you include something about your language skills in your profile.
It’s up to you! Depending on the type of mic you’re using, you might have an easy time using monitors if you’re “eating the mic” during the lesson. Many of our teachers like to switch back and forth between monitors and headphones during the lesson though. I recommend starting with headphones to avoid any weird echo issues during a lesson and deciding what you feel the most comfortable with teaching with as you learn.
As most of our students are DIY guys, not pros- we’ve seen increased demand on evenings and weekends.
Yes! Just have the student book more than one back to back lesson at a time. We’ll add a “length” option at checkout in the future though.
